The Project “Promotion of supply and demand of Eco-Fair Agri-food processing products in Vietnam” visited and worked with businesses in Dak Lak and Quang Ngai provinces
From March 3 to March 7, 2021, within the framework of the project “Promotion of supply and demand of Eco-Fair Agri-food processing products in Vietnam” (Eco-Fair project), the project team under the Center for Creativity and Sustainability Study and Consultancy (CCS) visited and worked with businesses in Dak Lak and Quang Ngai provinces.
On March 3, the project team met and discussed with Mr. Vu Dinh Khiem, coordinator of the Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH) in Buon Ma Thuot. The IDH is implementing a project on monitoring and evaluation of responsible production such as reducing the use of chemicals. Mr. Khiem stated that the potential of the Central Highlands in general and Dak Lak province in particular for the Eco-Fair project is mainly fruit businesses (avocado, durian, macadamia, jackfruit, passion fruit). The discussion mainly revolved around outstanding issues in the current production, cultivation, management and distribution of agricultural products in Dak Lak. Mr. Khiem is willing to support the project team in connecting with potential businesses in 4 sub-sectors.
After that, CCS project team visited and worked with management of local businesses, who really want to participate in the project towards sustainable production and consumption.
Field visit at Dak Gia Phat Co., Ltd:

Mr. Le Quang Thinh, Director of Dak Gia Phat Co., Ltd., introduced its business model, products and distribution system. The company’s products include cashew, cocoa, coffee, turmeric, and macadamia powder.
Field visit at Ea Tan Cooperative:
Address: Krong Nang district, Dak Lak province
The cooperative mainly grows and processes fruits such as coffee, pepper, cocoa, avocado, macadamia, durian.
Field visit at Duc Nhuan Mushroom Production and Trading Cooperative:
Address: Duc Nhuan Commune, Mo Duc District, Quang Ngai Province
The Cooperative specializes in the production and trading of Ganoderma lucidum and mushroom products such as mushroom seasoning, dried mushrooms, tea bags.
Field visit at Binh Chuong II Agricultural Cooperative:
Address: Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province
The Cooperative specializes in the production and trading of short-term crops and vegetables such as peppers, corn, pumpkins, and watermelons
In general, businesses are willing to participate in the project with the aim of improving products consumption, enhancing production capacity towards sustainability and product quality.
